Hey Karen!

Good to hear from you!

I've not had contact with Wayne Skinner in 20+ years. However, my mother lives in the same house near his parents old home. And mom has gotten word to him about this site. I believe he lives in Glouster and works at the particle accelerator facility as a gov't administrator, but don't take that as gospel.

My father used to live on the same street as my mother. However, two years ago my step mother died of cancer. My father moved permanently to his Nags Head beach house and gave the Yorkshire Drive house to my step mother's daughter (Dena Smith/Wood).

If BF stands for Boone's Farm, then I have some recollections. I think that drive in theater became a Super Walmart a few years back. Class of '79 folks should have tried to save it's destruction, just for the old memories. I remember one summer where Animal House played every weekend for the entire summer.

Question for you: Did we become remotely related after some folks got married years ago?

Hi Bruce,

Good to hear from you as well. It looks like you are enjoying yourself out there!

I'm not sure who married who, but you rattled my memory a bit and I seem to recall something about our families having a connection. Who is it from your family? Are they still in the Newport News area?

Happy New Year!

Karen

Stephen Bradbury is listed in todays OBITs....

Terri Duncan (McDonald)

What paper is it listed in?

12/31/08 12:51 PM #783

Bruce Nozolino

Karen,

I have no idea who was married, but the reception was at my step mother's sister's house. Her name is Joyce Edwards. Joyce had two sons and two daughters, so maybe it was one of their weddings. The sons were named Kelvin and Jarvis. I can't recollect the daughter's names.

Terri,

It was in the Daily Press...

Bruce,

Jarvis is my cousin Janet's husband! Janet's mother is my father's sister. We stay with her when we are in the area. What a small world!

Hey All,

I went to Steve's Memorial Service Saturday. I saw Cindy (Meredith) and Barbara (Jones) and some other old neighbors from Greenland Drive. The service was really special. The poem on Steve's "In Memory" was in the hand out at the funeral home.
Steve passed away from a heart attack and would have turned 48 January 2nd. It just didn't seem right to be almost 48 and taken from your wife, child, grandchildren, mother, father and friends. It made me realize that there are no guarantees in life and we don't know when that final day will come.
It's all about the choices we've made, good or bad. We all make some bad ones but hopefully we get on the right track and make the good choices that will determine the out come of our lives. Saturday it sounded like Steve had made alot of really good choices and now enjoys the eternal rewards.

Very well written Louie. I agree 100%. Steve was helping a friend in the upper end of the county when this happened. Sounds like he was always willing to help someone. You are right there are no guarentees in Life, I have seen it too many times. Happy New Year everyone!

Any updates to the actual dates & which hotels, events etc... the reunion will be held? Not that most will care but there may be a conflict with another annual event in South Dakota?

I have been out of the loop, especially since my access to the net is very limited. I was going to inquire about Reunion updates, but I see that Gene did that in yesterday's posting---

HAPPY NEW YEAR to Every one!!!! May you be blessed with MEGA PROSPERITY in all areas of your lives!!! :)

I FINALLY had an opportunity to read through the postings back to August. I haven't been here since last summer.

Gina - I see that you ran into Donald Smith at Cosco. HOw did he look and what was he doing now?? The last time I saw him was back in Winter 2005. He was not in great shape, both physically and mentally. I had been in touch with him every now and then, trying to help him, but I lost contact with him. I have prayed that he would be guided to the right places and people that would get him back on track.

To all - like I said in my previous posting - I have been out of the loop. Getting access to the computer and the net right now is difficult. So to get in touch with me - it is best by phone.

Gina - besides going to your site for info, do you have a listing of the shows that you will be doing this year?

Every one - have a Great and Prosperous Day :)

Shelly

Hey Everyone,
We'll be posting/emailing the final details for the reunion weekend hopefully by the end of the month no later than the first week of Feb. Here's a little info to satisfy your curiosity.

Friday Night Social - Shaggin on the Riverwalk at Yktwn
Saturday Night - Dinner and Dancing at Point Plaza (Old Inn Place)
Sunday - Golf Tournament at Kiln Creek. Open to all THS Classes, Teachers and Guest.
Date is unchanged - Aug. 7 - 9
More to follow.

Big thanks to everyone that has been contacting their old high school buddies and passing the word about the website and reunion. All you Classmates.com Gold members, please take the time to send emails to those that aren't on our site yet.
Our new website has really made it alot easier to find alumni. We have between 15 to 20 visits per day by alumni checking out new profiles or making edits to their own. The profiles, pictures and stories are awesome. Keep up to good work.
Don't forget to take a little time to pick up your phone book or do a little searching on line and hunt down those missing classmates. We would also like to invite as many Teachers so include them in the search as well.

Thanks and please remember to keep our soldiers in the Middle East and the new Administration in your prayers,
Lou
