Thomas Wilbur "Tom" Doggins, Jr.
YORKTOWN - Thomas Wilbur 'Tom' Doggins, 68, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006. Tom was a 1959 graduate of Hampden Sydney College, and a graduate of Madison College. He became a resident of York County in 1968, and was a teacher in the York County Public School System for 37 years. He taught at York High School, and was the head of the Biology and Science Department at Tabb High School until his retirement in 2004. He was a Master Gardener for the York County Extension Office, and a member of the Supervisory Committee for Langley Federal Credit Union. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda L. Doggins; his mother, Cornelia W. Doggins of Caret, Va.; and Cornel E. Parker, his wife, Jennifer, and son, Caden, of Chesapeake, Va. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in Amory Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in Amory Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
